Master Bedroom

Check out where we started with this room…

1. From the listing – notice the carpet, maroon wall paper on the soffit and the pony wall.

2. Our first round of updates included ripping out the carpet, painting the subfloor, removing the pony wall, removing the wallpaper, painting EVERYTHING, building our bed, building a headboard, adding blinds and curtains, adding a loveseat and draping it with fabric, using random end tables as nightstands, throwing down some Flokati rugs to warm up the floor, and buying some lamps for the inherited dressers.

3. Within the last year, we’ve done some fine tuning – added the mirror above the bed, raised the bamboo blinds to sit above the window, painted the inherited end table for one of the nightstands, found a small dresser in the boiler room (and cleaned it up, painted it, and added new knobs) for the other nightstand, retired the doggie-loved fabric from the loveseat, flip-flopped the placement of the dressers, and painted the drawers and added new pulls to the dressers.

Still on the list? ¬†Gut the bathroom, enlarge the bathroom, add hardwood/tile to the room and bathroom, redo the closets, redo the bed (I’m thinking something a bit shorter, without the storage component), and replace that 1992 TV with a flat-screen!
